We would like to announce that after a year of negotiations, the Chanhassen Historical Society has taken stewardship of the Historic Village Hall, located in Heritage Square adjacent to Historic St. Hubert’s Church!
We have signed a two-year contract with the City of Chanhassen to occupy the building and hold events, display artifacts, and make it our home. CHS is responsible for payment of utilities and we must pay for liability insurance. The city will continue to do maintenance and snow removal.
As of June 1st, we will be working on archiving, organization and cleaning. We will continue to use the storage space afforded to us at Chanhassen City Hall, since the space is extremely small.
We will be getting display cases from Carver County Historical Society. We plan to apply for a Legacy Grant from the State of Minnesota for improvements in lighting.
As soon as the Board is allowed to meet again, we will plan for a General Membership meeting (which was supposed to be held in April) and we hope for great attendance. We will need to do some hard fundraising this year or next and would love input from our members!
Some things we need:
Please consider an extra donation this year when you renew your membership to help with costs. It has been a difficult year for everyone, especially non-profits.
