The Chanhassen Historical Society Family Day: Seminary Fen - A Living Museum
When: Saturday, May 11, 2013 Noon - 2 pm
Where: Chanhassen Library, Thornton Wilder Meeting Room, 7711 Kerber Blvd
Chanhassen, MN
Description: In partnership with the Chanhassen Library and Carver County Historical Society, Heidi Gould of Carver County Historical Society will present a brief history of the site of the  Mudcura Sanitarium which later became the Assumption Seminary and is now the protected natural site known as Seminary Fen in Chanhassen. You'll find out the importance of this rare wetland to the ecological balance of the Minnesota river watershed. Information on getting outside and visiting the Seminary Fen, including bird watching check lists and fun family activities.

Preserving Historic Photos for the Archives

The Chanhassen Historical Society is interested in your historic photos! Please bring photos that day and we will take them and scan them and return them to you. Make sure they are clearly marked, and if possible, identify all persons and locations in the photos. If you are unable to attend, but have some photos you wish to share with the Historical Society, please contact Paula Atkins 952-934-0501.

The Chanhassen Historical Society and the Chanhassen Library invite everyone to experience the history of Chanhassen. School Mistress, Heidi Gould of Carver County Historical Society will present a brief history lesson of the City. She will teach you to make a toy so bring your children and grandchildren. Meet costumed characters from Chanhassen’s past who will tell their stories and answer questions about Chanhassen’s history. Snacks and lively discussion period will follow!

Whether you are a lifelong resident or if you have just joined our community this is your chance to learn more about our history!
