This is the first of two new fire trucks put into service - March 1971
Description: This is the first of two new fire trucks put into service - March 1971. This Ford tanker has a 1,500 gallon tank. The tank for the truck was specially designed by the Chanhassen firemen and built by Waconia Manufacturing Industrials, Inc. It cost about $11,000. Chanhassen voters passed a $50,000 bond issue in November 1969. Plans were to purchase a pumper tuck with remaining funds. The firemen continued to work on plans and specifications for the pumper truck. 'Miss Flame', Janet Kerber inspected the new truck.
