Recent weeks have seen major developments in the effort to preserve Chanhassen’s most significant historic site. The Save Old St. Hubert (SOS) Committee has hired a community engagement consultant to facilitate a discussion about the fate of the church. The committee hopes this discussion will help to define options for restoring the church that best serve the community, as well as provide more realistic cost estimates.
Last week community leaders from the city, county, area businesses and St Hubert Parish met for the first of these discussions. From that meeting Fr. Talbot, Pastor of St. Hubert’s, allowed the Save Old St. Hubert Committee until June 8 to raise funds for a feasibility study. This study would measure the possible funding available for a fully restored church. The study itself would take approximately two months.
The possibility to extend those conversations will be extinguished if we do not raise approximately $29,000 by June 8. Your contributions goes 100% toward this effort through our nonprofit partner, the Community Asset Foundation, and is fully tax deductible. You may support this effort in one of two ways: By check issued in the name of Community Asset Foundation and remitted to 21 Carvers Green, Chaska, MN 55318 for the benefit of Old St Hubert Church, or you may connect to a GoFundMe account via Community Asset Foundation through this link.
